Janusz Bogdan Uklejewski (Grudziądz 1925 - 2011 Gdynia) – artist, photographer, archivist of Pomerania. Author of several hundred postcards with polish ships, ports, lighthouses, in which he developed his own individual style of photographing this type of objects. He learned the profession of photographer during World War II, in 1940-1944, at the Irena Złotnicka works in Dęblin. While working there he took and saved, illegaly, 65 prints from a film given by one of the crew members of the German camp for Russian and Italian prisoners in Dęblin (Stalag 307) for induction and reproduction. He gave them to the Russians just after the occupation of the city (July 1944). This material became one of the essential elements of the investigation undertaken in 1947 by Polish-Russian Comission to examine the activity and determine the number of victims of this camp. In 1945-1948 he was a soldier in I Independent Naval Batallion. He was photojournalist of the Military Photo Agency (1948-1952), Central Photo Agency in Warsaw (1952-1990) and editorial offices of Gazeta Morska, Marynarz Polski and Morze. From 1951 he was a member of the Association of Polish Art Photographers.
