Wilhelm Süs (Düsseldorf 1861-1933 Mannheim) - German painter, gengraver and ceramic designer. He studied at Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf ar Crol, Peter Janssen, Eduard von Gebhardt and in Dresden at Leon Pohle. From 1898 he worked for Keramischen Ateliers Kronberg am Taunus with Karl Vogl and porcelain painter Wilhelm Becker. In 1901 they set up a majolica factory - Großherzoglichen Majolika-Manufaktur. In years 1908-1914 he created products under his own name. He designed a floor clock for prince Wilhelm. He was awarded with gold medal at the World Exhibition in St. Louis in 1904. In years 1914-1917 he was a professor at Kunstgewerbeschule Karlsruhe. In 1917 he became a director of Gemäldegalerie in Mannheim.
